Denkraum Deutschland is an initiative from the Pinakothek der Moderne, in Munich. The motto of this fifth edition was “Aging”.
Matthias Mross was invited to create a mural dedicated to the theme. His artwork is entitled “Smithfield Cowboys” and portraits different generations of horse traders at the Smithfield Market in Dublin, Irland.
The inspiration came from old photos taken by his father in Dublin, as well as from his own memories collected during his trips to that city.
